Born in Sofia, Bulgaria, Marina Spasova was immediately immersed in the arts. Considering her accomplishments in engraving elaborate pastoral scenes into the plaster of her grandmother’s villa using a fork, to reimagining the wallpaper of her other grandmother’s kitchen, she was signed up for art lessons at the age of three. Thereby, most vandalism ended, and her artistic career begun. Art classes continued once her parents immigrated to Chicago, Illinois, when she was ten years old. Despite being the recipient of several certificates for her childhood artistic achievements, Marina spent her pre-teens and teenagerdom becoming a thespian, garnering experience in acting (Shakespearean and otherwise), play-writing, directing, set-costume-as-well-as-lighting design.

She moved to Paris in 2012, where she graduated from The American University of Paris in 2016 with a degree in Art History, minoring in Literature and Fine Arts. Inspired and encouraged by the art and culture of Paris, Marina took part-time jobs (at times two) while honing her skills and artistic vision. In the mean time, she was a printmaking & lithography assistant, as well as an exhibition technician. She took part in a group show at 59 Rivoli in 2023, and has participated in several group and solo exhibitions since.
